For the autumn-lovers among us, October is a spectacular month, filled with crisp blue-sky days and an explosion of colorful foliage. Virginia’s fall beauty topped a recent list in the Washington Post of the best places to travel this fall to enjoy the colorful leaves, and we couldn’t agree more.

Virginia’s Department of Forestry has put together a fall foliage report that is a handy reference as you plan your local leaf-peeping outing. And if you’re interested in how the leaves are changing country-wide, there’s a really cool fall foliage prediction map put out by SmokyMountains.com that not only predicts when a region will be at peak autumnal color, but also offers up some interesting scientific information about why trees put on such a fantastic show for us every year.

All of us here at Burnett & Williams hope you have fun getting out to enjoy the beautiful fall colors, perhaps with some pumpkin-spiced treats and maybe some apple picking thrown in for good measure!
