For anyone with teenage drivers or parents who are becoming frail with age, driving can become a worrisome venture. This week a client brought to our attention an amazingly thoughtful and in-depth NPR podcast hosted by Mindy Todd at Atlantic Public Media, that takes a close look at issues of driving safety, especially involving teens and elders. There are guests from medicine, academia, and the auto safety industry, all sharing their insights. One of our favorites is the view that nearly all car accidents and auto injuries involve a lapse in some combination of:
- Seat belts
- Substance use
- Sleep deprivation
- Smart Phones
