A Warm Welcome to Sumra Qadir

As we welcome Spring, we also welcome our new Legal Assistant, Sumra Qadir, to Burnett & Williams.

Sumra Qadir has joined our growing legal team in Midlothian, serving the Richmond, Midlothian, and Hopewell areas.

Before joining Burnett & Williams, Sumra earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in General Business at Virginia Commonwealth University. During her time at VCU, Sumra campaigned for Virginia State Senate candidate Dan Gecker, where she canvased within the 10th district and organized campaign events. The following year, Sumra participated in a fellowship program called Campus Election Engagement Project (CEEP), where she served as a student leader to carry out nonpartisan approaches for voting on the university grounds. After graduating in 2017, Sumra took time to travel to Asia and Central America as she made plans for her future. She hopes to one day attend law school and become a Guardian Ad Litem — a court appointed representative for individuals who lack the ability to adequately represent themselves because they are a minor, mentally incapacitated, or physically frail.

Returned from her travels, Sumra is excited to be starting her next chapter with us here at Burnett & Williams. She is looking forward to working with our legal team and our clients, and to beginning a career where she can make a difference for justice. We’re thrilled to have her on board!
