Brain Injury Prevention.

Loudoun County parents have run into some surprising opposition in their efforts to add impact sensors to the helmets of Loudoun Valley High School football players – the school’s administrators. Both sides are expressing a commitment to student safety but they see the utility of the sensors differently.

We agree that player safety should be the top priority in navigating the best way forward on this issue. No children should be risking traumatic brain injury to play a sport. It is our hope that the coaches and administrators will work closely with parents and players to find smart solutions that will help decrease the risk of head trauma in our contact sports programs.
