“You don’t get a plain Jane, white, soft-neck garlic that doesn’t have a whole lot of taste,” says Peter Burnett. “The product is so remarkably different from what you buy in the grocery store.”

Burnett & Williams’ very own Peter Burnett and his daughters Abbey Burnett Spencer and Ellie Burnett Wallace have a fun new business together: an artisanal garlic operation named Sisters Garlic Co.. The trio started their company four years ago at their family’s Southland farm in Loudoun County, where the girls were raised and where the father and daughters now spend time together planting and harvesting different varieties of garlic.

Peter, Abbey, and Ellie were inspired to try their hand at growing their own garlic after tasting local garlic from farmers markets, and realizing that it tasted much more delicious than the standard garlic you can buy at grocery stores. The first year they planted garlic, Peter and his girls started with 300 cloves from local stock, and their passion has only grown from there.
