After more than two decades of distinguished service as a public defender in Loudoun County, Leesburg attorney Bonnie Hoffman is moving on to become the new “Director of Public Defense Reform and Training” for the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Peter Burnett welcomed Ms. Hoffman to Burnett & Williams’ main office in Northern Virginia earlier this month. As a thank-you gift for her years of service to area residents, Mr. Burnett presented Ms. Hoffman with a signed copy of Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption, an award-winning book by renowned death penalty attorney and Equal Justice Initiative founder Bryan Stevenson.

All of us at Burnett & Williams extend our appreciation to Ms. Hoffman for her exemplary work at the heart of our legal community.  We wish her well in her new endeavor helping develop and guide public defenders in Virginia, Maryland, and across the nation.
